Wet Weather Activities for all the Family 

That time of year has come round already. The kids are on school holidays and you have some precious time away from work. All you want to do is sit and relax in the sun. You unpack your car plan the day on the beach and the sky's open.....the story of a typical British summer. Well do not despair, there are plenty of wet weather activities on the Isle of Wight. In today's episode we give 5 activities that are perfect for when it is raining outside.

This week in the News Tony kicks things off with not one but four stories!!! An update from the very successful Ryde slide, news on the Shanklin lift re-opening, the date for your diaries for a period TV drama set on the Island which will be aired on the BBC, and if that was not enough excitement for you there was a real life bomb disposal on an Isle of Wight beach.  In typical Ali style she climbs back onto her soap box and talks about the up coming floating bridge charges for foot passengers.

 

5  wet weather activities for all the family during the school holidays

 1. Sandown Pier

Mini golf, soft play zone, glow in the dark bowling and some classic fruit machines. As they advertise it really is a whole day's of fun in one!

2. Brading Roman Villa

A really interesting historic attraction with a fantastic cafe!

Summer Holidays on the Isle of Wight

Activities for all the family for the school holidays 

In this weeks' episode our feature is all about 5 extra activities that take place during the school holidays on the Isle of Wight.  Something different to entertain the whole family without breaking the bank. We even throw in a wet weather activity for those (few and far between) rainy days on the Island.

This week in the News Tony kicks things off with a  congratulations and mention to the Wash the Wight team who have carried various household appliances around the island to raise money for charity. Ali's news is about a campaign to get an Isle of Wight historic resident, Julia Margaret Cameron, onto the new £20 notes. Please note that the nominations have now closed.

 1. Blackgang Chine

Special extended opening every Monday & Wednesday in the school holidays as well as live music, entertainment and fireworks.

2. Robin Hill

Extended opening hours and special activities taking place every Tuesday and Thursday.

3. Carnivals

Almost every major town on the Isle of Wight will be hosting a carnival throughout the school holidays. You will certainly see a carnival or two whilst you are here.
